Jedi

I am easily impressable? Or is it impressionable? Particularly so, if it appears in the net. Ha! So when I stumbled upon mental hacks to make you like a jedi (I googled it up. Jedi is an academic/spiritual institution in the Star wars . Fictional), I liked it so much, I would like to share it with you.

  1. When you are talking to some one standing, observe their feet. If the feet are pointing away from you, they want to go away.
  2. If you want to feel happy, smile. Since you are smiling, your brain is fooled to thinking that you must be happy.
  3. This one works for me - chew gum or something similar when you are in situations when you will be nervous. 
  4. In a conversation, if some one is telling you incomplete fact, pause without talking for a while. They may tell the complete thing.
  5. In a meeting, if you think some one is going to attack you or take you to task, sit right next to them. 
Well see, stumbling upon or spending too much time in net may not be a bad thing after all.

Hair care and me ??

I delayed writing this post for I was not sure whether I am entitled to write this post. If I put my photo along, I should also add that I do not use Dove shampoo, so that it will serve as a warning to people , if they don't use a proper shampoo, their hair might also look like mine :-( :-( :-( Things (on my head) were not this bad always. I had long black and reasonably thick hair, nicely plaited, when I was a child. In fact I would be sitting on my plaits - they were so long. And to top it all, one of relatives used to say " you say you will be taller and your hair will say it will be longer" or something like that. (Now I have ended up 5.2 ft  and my hair also short sob....) Back then, how did I nourish my hair?I did not do much in fact. But mere paas maa thi. She would religiously oil my hair - everyday. We Hegdes from Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Shimoga districts of Karnataka belong to a brahmin sub sect called Havyaka Brahmins. We have some traditions of our own, a language of our own - which is slightly different from kannada. But I am not an authority on the subject, nor have I read any book on comparative analysis of Karnataka brahmin traditions.
