Swarga prapti

If you watch Frankly speaking with Arnab Goswami - (people call it barely speaking with Arnab ... - rightfully so. He rarely lets others speak. Isn't it his show. Never, ever, never ever can any one else talk.) If you watch this show, you can hear "Congress blah blah blah Rahul Gandhi blah blah blah Rahul blah ....:. So my opinion - Arnabda, if you take Almighty's name as many times as you take Rahul's name, you can very well get Moksha and be in Swarga.

Nation will know

Why has AAP started this yaadavi kalaha ? And why does one party which has promised us that our country still has good leaders, disappointing us so much? And why Times now, who as a routine never calls AAP representatives to any of its discussions, talking about nothing else since last 3 days. Mr Goswami, once you help in finishing the two major opposition parties, your usability will be zero. And yours will be the first channel to be finished. You don't need Nostradamus for this prediction. I know I am acting like any other fan, instead of accepting the bungling of this party I am trying to deviate by blaming times now. But haven't we all seen how he keeps blaming Rahul, Congress and now AAP each and every day? We thought we could see light at the end of the tunnel. Some one is trying to take away this light. Grrr....

Ban India Ban!!

India is in ban spree.  After Murugan's book, Shireen Dalvi's newspaper over Charlie Hebdo cartoon and India's daughter,  now it is the turn of Debate over 'Mangal Sutra' in Tamil TV channel 'Puthia Talaimurai.  The channel had recorded a debate over the relevance of  "thali" or mangalsutra - the chain worn by married Hindu women. The debate discussed how relevant is this, particularly in the case of estranged women or women who are abused by their spouses.  The show was about to be aired on last Sunday. But the channel received around 3,600 threatening calls. People were asking why does the channel question the thali worn by millions by Hindu women. Will the channel debate over burka worn by Muslim women or cross worn by Christian nuns. The channel has decided to abandon the telecast of the program. Long live democracy and freedom of speech.

Magasaysay award winner Kejriwal wins Delhi elections

Image from Hindustan Times I am extremely happy today. We hear the phrase "I am happy for you" often. But do we really feel happy for someone other than our own family? Today for the first time I felt happy for aam admi party and aam admi. Because of three facts this election has proved Some how from some where honesty is creeping into Indian politics. So are honest people. Unbelievable but true Indian aam admi - common man has proved that he is not a sheep as the politicians like to believe. And his vote can not be bought with gifts.  Any man in this country is not invincible no matter how strong he appears or how strong mandate he has got. I spent most part of the afternoon doing what my spouse does, watching news channel debates - with "interest". Few interesting points which were opined were Many in the BJP were waiting for this moment. The sheer arrogance of BJP caused its downfall. The personal attacks which helped BJP in Loksabha electio...

What a language!

Why is many  holy men and women in this country are in news for all wrong reasons? The latest to the list is Sadhvi Niranjan Jyothi who asked the people whether they would like to vote for Ramzade or Haramzade. Great! What a language? Considering the said holy woman Sadhvi is also a union minister. What an invitation to communal harmony! It is not a parliamentarian language. And it is certainly not the type of language to be used by a some one who has left all the bindings and all raaga-dvesha of this world. Any ways, let us remind these people that our religion tells to love everyone, not just Ramzade.

It happens only in India

Yes, of course. Where else can a sitting "member of parliament" openly ask his party-men to shoot the opposition party people and rape their women? And still does not get arrested or disqualified? It happens only in India.

Another emergency?

Modi has not yet been elected. His government which will take India away from corruption, will apply Gujarat model to entire India, has not yet been formed. Already his followers are in full swing. Of talibanizing our India. Togadia says muslims can not buy land in Hindu areas. Giriraj Singh says those who oppose Modi should be sent to Pakistan. Did we really want these people to rule our country? Or rather ruin our country? In the name of religion? Or are we seeing emergence of another emergency?

Fear of followers

Today I read two articles in times of india, pointing out that modi may be a good answer for the assorted problems our country is facing right now.  I did not understand the first article so much, but guessed that the author is saying modi has good managerial qualities but he should ensure that his supporters will not polarize the country. Second one was about intellectuals opposing him on the basis of 2002 etc. I know little about politics except to oppose modi and support kejriwal :) But I still have a small doubt. Are these people supporting him because they like his qualities or they do not want to be put on a train to Pakistan? Me? The bhakts may find it difficult to locate this anonymous middle aged woman. India is filled with so many stay at home moms, middle aged and strongly opposed to modi. But if they find me, they may ship me not to Pakistan, but to even farther Afghanistan. On a camel.

Arnab and Raj

Have you observed how Arnab Goswami of Times Now does not let others to talk. How he keeps interrupting their sentences? His 'karma' caught up with him. His interview with Raj Thackerey was hilarious. Raj kept on calling him 'Tum', not 'aap'. He also told he has gone from 'middle school to montessari'. He threatened to remove his microphone if he was asked the same question again and again.  I loved the interview. No, I am in no way supporting Raj Thackeray. His views are more of a goon, than of a politician. And God save India, if a person like him comes to power in Center. And God save Maharashtra if he comes to power there.  But for once, the incessant interrupter Arnab had his match. My propaganda here   I used to be a fan of AG. But since he started slanting towards right wing party and more importantly since he started commenting on AK  and then completely boycotting AK and APP, I have understandably started disliking him. Still r...

Praying

Media is like playing with fire. Look at how this media took Kejriwal to highest peak and now trying to bring him down. I personally find nothing wrong with his utterances about media. The popular English news channels are all associated with Congress or BJP. And if a person taking bribe should be arrested, why not these TV channels. But who am I to comment on these mighty TV channels. The poor anonymous blogger. But as days of election are approaching Kejriwal is doing one wrong thing after another. He does not have cunning of these people and does not feel the need to hide his feelings. For the first time in my very long life, I am praying for a politician. Please God, if thou art present, help this honest gentleman to get at least some face saving seats, so that we will have an opposition in  parliament, who may honestly try to protect our interests - interests of aam admi and aam aurat.

They do tell truth - some times

It is not third front. It is tired front But other times, they tell their version of truth Poverty is a state of mind Dented-painted women protesters in Delhi went to discotheques and then turned up at India Gate to express outrage.' People join (the) army to die or for becoming martyrs Veg skies, Veg hospitals, Veg housing societies. Soon Veg Mumbai! Either Gujjus go back to Gujarat or they turn Mumbai into Gujarat...Red alert. If there is no water in the dam, how can we release it? Should we urinate into it? If there is no water to drink, even urination is not possible Arvind Kejriwal is like Rakhi Sawant. Question !!

Verb. Do ask questions when ever any person comes to you for asking your vote. If they are current MPs What have they done to the constituency in last 5 years? How many times have they asked questions in the parliament? On what subject? How many sessions of parliament have they not attended in these years? What is the reason? If they aspire to be MPs Which party do they represent? Have they changed from one party to another earlier? For what reason? If they are independent candidates, can they do anything at all to the you, the constituents? What does their party plan to do if they win for Rising inflation Corruption Employment generation Industrialization but with care for eco systems Power deficiency Farmers suicides and farmers' problems Urban and rural infra structure Water supply Women's empowerment Falling image of parlimentarians If they answer that they can not answer now, but all these are explained in manifesto, press the point that you...

Raising the bar or?

Now a days growth is the mantra every where. You should grow as a human being, as an empathetic person, as this, as that etc. Grow in your knowledge, in your perception, in your social skills (only for me :| ). But do we grow? Can we? Only growth some of us are seeing in ourselves is that of girth. Sad but true! On an unrelated topic, have you heard of raising the bar in corporate offices. One smart kid enters the office. The work you have been struggling for a month, he will finish over night. And suddenly the bosses are all lauding him and telling us mortals that he has set the bar higher. You resent this blue eyed kid resenting the fact that you resent him for outshining you. But not for our leaders. There kid or elderly men and women do not bother to raise the bar. They do the opposite. They lower the bar. Fist fighting to pepper spray to stripping to knives. So may be other leaders do not resent them. Poor Arnab. He will shout and shout and tire his throat.

Another revolution?

"For revolutionists there is no rest but in the tomb" said Saint Just - military and political leader during French revolution. Said to be idealist, but also known as "Angel of death", he was the only person unruffled during their execution at the end of reign of terror. No, there is not much comparison between him and Kejriwal except for the fact that both are rebels and fight for the good of their men. But there are many similarities between current situation and French revolution. Inflation, poverty, incompetent and indecisive ruler and angry people. Don't know how this revolution will end? Or will it start at all? With our cautious attitude and chalta hai attitude? Offline point : I came to know about this Saint Just by Albert Camus'  book "The Rebel". Strangely interesting book. Collection of essays about different types of rebels. currently reading about regicide.

Anarchist

Poor Arvind. He is very new to politics. He does not know that he can Call bandh to protest thereby causing inconvenience to public Call other MLAs names and shout at them inside the house Start a physical fight with them inside the house Show knives to other people Spray pepper to others. He just sat for Dharna instead of all these and is labelled as an anarchist. Poor Arvind indeed.

AAP aur hum

You may say anything you like. But at least AAP does not believe in divide and rule. They don't believe in caste and religion politics. And surprisingly they do care to some extent about aam admi. Shouldn't we give then a chance? Note: I am being a true fan or bhakt. Blaming others when there is a mistake.

To rule or not to rule

There was this speech by one of our great leaders, broadcast on TV. And my hustband was watching with bated breath. And the leader was speaking with full enthusiasm, and love for mother land and Indians. It is good to have oratory skills. You can mesmerize the audience and make them forget the wretched state of governance. You can also inspire people - to what means and end? Let us not get into all these unnecessary details. He was telling something like India is my mother. And all Indians are my  brothers and sisters. I completed for him - some are step brothers and sisters. But then there is this another leader, who says he like chaos instead of governance. To his credit, he was almost compelled to become ruler. But do we want a government which says it creates chaos? The elections are going to be really tough. For the voter. Do we vote for the great leader who does not know how to rule, another one whose past is questionable or the third one who says he will not rule? ...

Destination - tents

In Muzaffarnagar some fight started. Then leaders of different political parties went there and started preaching hatred. They helped in escalating the violence. Now when thousands are homeless, living in tents, not a single leader is giving them place in their homes. Not a single party is doing anything to help them to return to their houses - if the houses are still present. As we are sitting in our warm homes, wrapped in warm clothes and complaining about cold, the people are shivering in the tents there. May be there is a lesson for all of us here. If we listen to hate politics, leaders who teach us to hate fellow Indians in the name of caste and religion, we all will end up in such tents. Shivering. And our leaders who sent us there will be having a bollywood party or a foreign tour. Media will be shoot pitiable conditions of ours and increase their TRP.
