Magasaysay award winner Kejriwal wins Delhi elections

I am extremely happy today.

 We hear the phrase "I am happy for you" often. But do we really feel happy for someone other than our own family? Today for the first time I felt happy for aam admi party and aam admi.

 Because of three facts this election has proved
  1. Some how from some where honesty is creeping into Indian politics. So are honest people. Unbelievable but true
  2. Indian aam admi - common man has proved that he is not a sheep as the politicians like to believe. And his vote can not be bought with gifts. 
  3. Any man in this country is not invincible no matter how strong he appears or how strong mandate he has got.

 I spent most part of the afternoon doing what my spouse does, watching news channel debates - with "interest".

 Few interesting points which were opined were

 Many in the BJP were waiting for this moment.
The sheer arrogance of BJP caused its downfall.
The personal attacks which helped BJP in Loksabha elections completely misfired this time.

 Anyway let us hope that this is the beginning of "ache din" - the real ones - for aam admi.

Hair care and me ??

I delayed writing this post for I was not sure whether I am entitled to write this post. If I put my photo along, I should also add that I do not use Dove shampoo, so that it will serve as a warning to people , if they don't use a proper shampoo, their hair might also look like mine :-( :-( :-( Things (on my head) were not this bad always. I had long black and reasonably thick hair, nicely plaited, when I was a child. In fact I would be sitting on my plaits - they were so long. And to top it all, one of relatives used to say " you say you will be taller and your hair will say it will be longer" or something like that. (Now I have ended up 5.2 ft  and my hair also short sob....) Back then, how did I nourish my hair?I did not do much in fact. But mere paas maa thi. She would religiously oil my hair - everyday. We Hegdes from Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Shimoga districts of Karnataka belong to a brahmin sub sect called Havyaka Brahmins. We have some traditions of our own, a language of our own - which is slightly different from kannada. But I am not an authority on the subject, nor have I read any book on comparative analysis of Karnataka brahmin traditions.
