Greys Anatomy

As my cable connection is playing tantrum, I am not watching GA today, instead I will blog about it.

What is the problem with cable connection? Who knows, the cable operators say it is some problem on our side - just like telephone. Just like telephone.

Grey's anatomy is Grey - Meredith Grey's story. Almost all the characters are some how related to her. And since the story is about a hospital, all of them are doctors, and honest, empathetic, unrealistic doctors.

There is handsome Derek Shephard - Grey's boyfriend. He has run away from his very beautiful doctor wife Addison because she cheated on him with his best friend - Mark Sloan. The story drags a lot here, Addison too comes to same hospital with the intention of patching up her marriage. Mark Sloan comes there too. And there is a huge mess.

Then there is Calliope Torres, she is having on and off relationship with Mark Sloan - Shephard's best friend. This Dr. Torres marries George O'Malley, Meredith's friend and gets divorced. Then she marries Dr. Robbins. She is bi.

There is Lexie who is Grey's half sister. Who is having an affair with Sloan, though young enough to be his daughter.

Then there is Richard Webber - Grey's mentor and also the one who had an affair with Ellis Grey - Meredith's mother. Now we see that these two have a daughter together Pierce.

There is Amelia Shephard - Shephard's sister , ex-junkie but now neurologist just like brother.

Two more doctors who are not related to Grey are her best friends Alex Karen and Christina Yang.

So they talk about all difficult medical terms, and they perform tens of surgeries per day. But yet. Sad. 

Looking at all this stupidity, why the hell do I watch it religiously?

Hair care and me ??

I delayed writing this post for I was not sure whether I am entitled to write this post. If I put my photo along, I should also add that I do not use Dove shampoo, so that it will serve as a warning to people , if they don't use a proper shampoo, their hair might also look like mine :-( :-( :-( Things (on my head) were not this bad always. I had long black and reasonably thick hair, nicely plaited, when I was a child. In fact I would be sitting on my plaits - they were so long. And to top it all, one of relatives used to say " you say you will be taller and your hair will say it will be longer" or something like that. We Hegdes from Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Shimoga districts of Karnataka belong to a brahmin sub sect called Havyaka Brahmins. We have some traditions of our own, a language of our own - which is slightly different from kannada. But I am not an authority on the subject, nor have I read any book on comparative analysis of Karnataka brahmin traditions. And as most modern secular Hindus I find it more amusing to make fun of our traditions rather than celebrating them - may be because I do not understand it completely.
