God(?) men

Do we never learn a lesson?

 How many Nithyananda, Asarams will take us the understand that most of these holy men are mortal like us with all good and bad qualities of humans. More bad qualities than good. And they exploit innocent people. People who become devotees because they need a some straw to hold on, are misled, their money looted, they are physically abused.
Devishree

Yesterday many Bangalore channels were showing the video of a holy man called Devishree of HSR layout Bangalore in compromising position with a woman. 

This swamiji reportedly told women that touch with his body will cure the women of all ailments. And the video which was  being shown incessantly (yes it was shown continuously in few Kannada channels) was taken by his own CCTV. One of his associates was blackmailing him and taken 10 lakh from him. When he did not pay another 10 lakh she released the video.

 At least some good things  are happening from these private TV channels and their hunger for news. 

Continuous display

What he has done is deplorable. And viewers have right to know about these news. But what is the need of showing the video in an infinite loop. While they are interviewing other people, or taking calls from viewers, the channels kept on showing the video in the center continuously. That is bad

 
Suggestions from viewers

A few  people who were calling the channel were suggesting, that media is encouraging such god men. Every morning all these channels show astrology programs instead of useful programs.

The anchor who took the call was unwilling to accept this mistake. But it is true. Around 8 in the morning 3-4 kannada channels show astrologers or vaastu experts who point out how your stars are the cause of anything and everything which happen to you, or how by making south east corner of the house at a larger altitude, you are having schizophrenia. 

For "GOD"s sake show a disclaimer at the bottom like shown for tobacco,  saying believing in these things may not always help you. 


Another baba in news is Ramdev for commenting that Rahul Gandhi spending nights in dalit houses is like spending honey moon nights. Thankfully he may get an FIR or even go to jail for this comment.

Hair care and me ??

I delayed writing this post for I was not sure whether I am entitled to write this post. If I put my photo along, I should also add that I do not use Dove shampoo, so that it will serve as a warning to people , if they don't use a proper shampoo, their hair might also look like mine :-( :-( :-( Things (on my head) were not this bad always. I had long black and reasonably thick hair, nicely plaited, when I was a child. In fact I would be sitting on my plaits - they were so long. And to top it all, one of relatives used to say " you say you will be taller and your hair will say it will be longer" or something like that. (Now I have ended up 5.2 ft  and my hair also short sob....) Back then, how did I nourish my hair?I did not do much in fact. But mere paas maa thi. She would religiously oil my hair - everyday. We Hegdes from Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Shimoga districts of Karnataka belong to a brahmin sub sect called Havyaka Brahmins. We have some traditions of our own, a language of our own - which is slightly different from kannada.
