Rule like Bharatha

I am the king but only temporarily. The king will come some day and ask me. I am answerable to him. So I need to look after the kingdom with utmost care devoting all my energy. That was Bharatha's life. He had all the burdens of a king, but never the freedom of the king. He did not try to escape from his responsibilities as a king but always maintained that he is the representative of the king.
   Our rulers in our democratic country are said to be our representatives. They need to read this kagga.

But are we so blameless? If we are looking after someone Else's property , we misuse it and become completely careless. I know, most of you switch of the fan, light, TV, the moment you get up from a place at home. (At least that is true in India) But what do you do in offices, the Air conditioners, the computers, the monitors, lights and fans will never be switched off by you, no matter how long you are away from your desk. Anyway you do not have to pay the electricity bill !!!

Note : Bharatha is a character from epic Ramayana. When the crown prince and his elder brother Rama goes to Forest for 14 years to fulfill the promise made by his father Dasharatha to step mother Kaikeyi, Bharatha will bring the foot-wear of Rama and keep it on the throne and rule on behalf of his brother.

Hair care and me ??

I delayed writing this post for I was not sure whether I am entitled to write this post. If I put my photo along, I should also add that I do not use Dove shampoo, so that it will serve as a warning to people , if they don't use a proper shampoo, their hair might also look like mine :-( :-( :-( Things (on my head) were not this bad always. I had long black and reasonably thick hair, nicely plaited, when I was a child. In fact I would be sitting on my plaits - they were so long. And to top it all, one of relatives used to say " you say you will be taller and your hair will say it will be longer" or something like that. (Now I have ended up 5.2 ft  and my hair also short sob....) Back then, how did I nourish my hair?I did not do much in fact. But mere paas maa thi. She would religiously oil my hair - everyday. We Hegdes from Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Shimoga districts of Karnataka belong to a brahmin sub sect called Havyaka Brahmins. We have some traditions of our own, a language of our own - which is slightly different from kannada.
