Quiz answers

I will have to provide the answers to my earlier quiz, though most of you have found the answers yourselves. 



  • The number whose square is same number is One. 
    • 1X1 =1. 
    • (I think that is the only answer)


  • The value of g is 9.81 m/s2.
    • This is the acceleration by which you will fall down if you jump from height. (e.g. fifth floor of a building). Try it once ;-)

  • Hydrogen is the element with no neutrons in its nucleus.
    • It has atomic number of 1 and weight of 1. In its nucleus it has only one proton, but no neutrons

  • The author of War and Peace is 19th century Russian author Leo Tolstoy
    • Published in 1869, this book is considered as one of greatest books in World literature
    • Anna Karenina is another famous  book by Tolstoy


  • Stockholm is the capital of the country Sweden (I honestly did  google only after guessing the answer correctly)

  • In 1757 battle of Plassey took place
    • Siraj Ud Daul and Robert Clive leading East India Company fought the battle in Plassey a small town between Calcutta and Murshidabad. Siraj Ud Daul lost the battle because of treason of Mir Jaffar. This was the begining of British rule in India. 100 years later Indians protested against this rule in what is called as Sepoy Mutiny or First Indian war of Independance

  • Chief minister of Bihar is Nitish Kumar and CM of Uttaranchal or Uttarakhand is Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri
    • Nitish Kumar is Janata Dal (U) CM of Bihar since Novermber 2005 and is reelected in 2010
    • Khanduri is BJP  CM of Uttaranchal since March 2007

    • 5 years ago, son's age is x-5 and your age is 3x-5
    • Since your age was 4 times sons age then
      • 3x-5 = 4(x-5)
      • 3x - 5 = 4x - 20
      • 20-5 = 4x-3x
      • x=15

  • Rahul Dravid 
    • He is called Jammy as his father was manager in Kissan jam factory
    • (I am feeling little guilty here. I know very little about Cricket but put this question because majority of Indians adore Cricket and cricketers)

  • Sholay
    • In this film, the actor Hema Malini played the tongawali Basanti who is talkative girl 
    • Sholay released in 1975 was one of the most successful Hindi (super hit) films.

This must really go to facebook page. But since I am currently not in facebook, I am putting it here. Bharatha - 2. UrdhvaRoma

I wanted to write about Karna as my part 2 of Bharatha because he is the real tragic hero of MahaBharatha. But net is filled with writings about him. So let me write about little known son of Arjuna called Urdhvaroma. And I don't want to write as twisted tale but as I have heard it from my Yankatte (atte - aunt). Yankatte was my mother's aunt and she was widowed in childhood. She would spend some time in my granny's house and some time in her husband's house. She would tell us all beautiful stories. UrdhvaRoma was a son of Arjuna (I think. Or may be Bhima's son. I don't remember clearly. ) He was living in the forest. One day when he was practicing archery, Arjuna and Krishna were passing by. Krishna indicated Arjuna to hide and watch. This boy shot an arrow to a large tree. And all the leaves of the tree fell down except for 5 and a half leaves.
