Immobile world

Supreme Court has caused a havoc by cancelling the licences of many telecom providers. Newspaper articles say 5% of the consumers will be affected. Some other articles say 10% people will be affected. But I am distressed as we may be seeing the following things soons
  • Men and women will be walking around telephones holding the receiver to their ears and talking incessantly, not bothered that the cables are disconnected and dangling. Aadat you see.
 
  • Kids and teenagers would suddenly become extra proficient in mathematics, arithmetic in particular. As they can not type away messages, they would be typing 34 + 1234 or 2567 * 11 etc. on their now useless mobile phones throughout the day. OK that is one good news for us, parents. 
 
  • Men will heave a sigh of relief as they need not worry about their spouses checking their phone logs or messages.
 
  • Mothers will be slightly worried as they have to find  extra reasons to nag their children. "Will you keep away the mobile." . "Stop messaging now and read" will be redundant .
 
  • Women will be relieved that their domestic helps will not call them at 11 am to announce that they will be absent. But what they do not realize is that these ladies will not stop putting raja(leave) , only they will not call and tell it.

Hair care and me ??

I delayed writing this post for I was not sure whether I am entitled to write this post. If I put my photo along, I should also add that I do not use Dove shampoo, so that it will serve as a warning to people , if they don't use a proper shampoo, their hair might also look like mine :-( :-( :-( Things (on my head) were not this bad always. I had long black and reasonably thick hair, nicely plaited, when I was a child. In fact I would be sitting on my plaits - they were so long. And to top it all, one of relatives used to say " you say you will be taller and your hair will say it will be longer" or something like that. (Now I have ended up 5.2 ft  and my hair also short sob....) Back then, how did I nourish my hair?I did not do much in fact. But mere paas maa thi. She would religiously oil my hair - everyday. We Hegdes from Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Shimoga districts of Karnataka belong to a brahmin sub sect called Havyaka Brahmins. We have some traditions of our own, a language of our own - which is slightly different from kannada. But I am not an authority on the subject, nor have I read any book on comparative analysis of Karnataka brahmin traditions.
