I think I was (still am to a large extent) too haughty. Anything traditional was according to me too silly. So I did not know any of the songs to be told to God, I did not know how to draw a rangoli. So much so that, I even did not know how to make a garland from Jasmine flowers. I was under the impression that I am too much of an intellectual to care for these things. It was not to be.
So I am learning these things now. I learnt some simple rangoli designs without using dots by observing the domestic helps. Now I have decided that everyday I will learn one new rangoli from the net and put it in front of the door.
Two days are completed. And things have gone well so far.
And the title? Well my family thinks that this new craze too will pass.
