I was pained to see the celebration of hanging of Ajmal Kasab. No, I am in no way a sympathetic of Taliban or any other terrorist organization. I am not even a muslim.
I read an article in Times of India today about how these terrorists are born. They are illiterate or semi-literate with large families, with sisters to be married off and with no other earning member. They are lured by the Taliban which gives them money and a also a promise that in the eventuality of their death at the hands of Indian soldiers, their families will be looked after. They have been fed false information that in India, the muslims are treated horribly and there are no mosques to pray etc.
And other types of recruits are illegal immigrants from Afghanistan who come to Pakistan in search of jobs. They are threatened with extradition unless they comply with these terrorist outfits.
Hanging of one Kasab will not solve any of these problems. We have to find alternate solutions to these.
